Produktbeschreibung
Now available with our new 5 port kettle (optional), select from the options above. When ordering with a 5 port kettle, the parts list remains the same as with the 4 port kettle. You can add an extra clamp, gasket, and fitting for the fifth port seperately to your order.
A 60L boil kettle set with bottom drain, in a base version that you can expand with all the accessories you need for the functions you want. You decide how you want to drain the kettle, what type of brew stand you want to use, and whether you want to add kettle leg extensions or other accessories like a pump, whirlpool arm, or steam condenser. In the store you will find everything you need to assemble your ideal brewing system.
On request, we can supply the set with our butterfly valve with ball handle instead of lever handle, and with EPDM instead of silicone gaskets.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when setting up your new brewery:
- If using a pump for whirlpooling and draining the kettle, you will need a valve after the pump outlet to control the flow rate. The Blichmann Riptide pump has an integrated outlet valve for this. For the MP-15 or other pumps, you will need to add a valve on the output side of the pump.
- It is always easiest to make external connections with silicone tubing and hose barbs. For 40L and 60L sizes, I recommend using 3/4" or DN15 hose barbs and fittings with 14x24 mm silicone hose. Don't forget hose clamps!
- To empty the boil kettle into your fermenter, there are two options:
- After boiling, drain through the bottom port and filter the trub and hops before the fermenter. This is easily done by recirculating the contents of the kettle to the top of the kettle with a 400 micron brew bag isnide the kettle. The BIAB brew bag acts as a filter for the entire kettle and with a large surface area does not clog easily as long as the wort temperature is above 40°C (below 40°C, the very fine cold trub settles out). This also maximizes the volume of your wort in the fermenter. No more waiting for the whirlpool to finish!
- Install the 45 degree racking arm and a valve into the bottom side port. After whirlpooling, you can rotate the arm to fill the fermenter with clear wort above the trub cone. This works well, but uses the last available side port, which can otherwise be used for temperature measurement. You can install a thermowell in the recirculation loop for this purpose to measure the temperature during the whirlpool.
- If you purchase the kettle set with ring heating element, you will need to install the ring element in your kettle. For this you need a 55 mm wrench, which is not included in the set. It is available separately in the store.
- The heating element in this set include a 3m long connection cable with SCHUKO plug, but it is not pre-wired to the heating element. Please consult a professional electrician. You must make absolutely sure that you use a suitable RCD and a circuit breaker designed for the load!
- With an optional EINBREW controller you can set hop timers and have your recipe automated by the controller. For a 60L 3-kettle HERMS system you need the EINBREW 3V2P.
See the "frequently bought together" products below for some recommended additions to the set.
For recirculation or draining the kettle from the bottom port, you need access to the lower Tri-Clamp port. If you are using a regular table as a brew stand, you can easily do this with the 14 cm leg extensions (sold separately). Please note that 80-90 cm high tables may be too high to comfortably operate the kettle. Alternatively, you can bolt the kettle directly to the floor with our 45 or 65 cm leg extensions and footplates. You can attach the pump to the legs of the kettle with a pump bracket. You can also build your own brew stand or choose a high-quality brew stand from Craft Hardware in the store.
