False Bottom

Our Craft Hardware design false bottom is designed by us and laser cut in germany using 1.5mm thick stainless steel sheet stock. It is made to withstand the pressure of pumping the wort, but can of course be used for normal lauter purposes as well.

It provides a mostly flat surface to minimize obstructions when stirring. The single hole in the false bottom can be used with our dip tube (low stand, flat bottom kettle) or our handle (tall stands and all bottom drain kettles).

Flat bottom kettles: you need a stand for the false bottom! See here for a false bottom stand for flat bottom kettles.

Bottom drain kettle: if you recirculate, you need a false bottom stand. See here for a false bottom stand for bottom drain kettles. If you do not circulate, you do not need a stand. You can just put the lauter bottom in the kettle.
